Job description
Job Title: BigCommerce Developer (Contract) (Remote)

Experience

Minimum 3 years of BigCommerce development experience

Overall 7 to 12 years of IT experience

Key Skills:

Proficient in BigCommerce functionalities and features

Experience with Cornerstone or other derived themes

Integration of BigCommerce with third-party apps from the BigCommerce Marketplace

Strong knowledge of Stencil and Handlebar template language

Hands-on experience in customizing BigCommerce themes and checkout

Familiarity with NodeJS (ExpressJs, Nextjs, or Remix), PHP (Laravel or Symfony), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery

Implementation/debugging of BigCommerce apps and creating custom extensions

Understanding of BigCommerce concepts, REST APIs, GraphQL API, and webhooks

Addressing quality/security issues in Nodejs/PHP code

Experience with test-driven development

Proficient in coordinating with teams and clients across different time zones

Desirable Experience & Knowledge:

Minimum 2 years of experience on BigCommerce projects

Minimum 2 implementations of BigCommerce

Experience with Cornerstone or other derived themes and integration with other systems

Knowledge of other e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, commerce tools, Woocommerce, Prestashop, Spryker)

Familiarity with Vue.js, React.js, Remix, and Nextjs for creating apps

BigCommerce Certification

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills
