JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Truck Driver

Department: Ag Services

Schedule:

-4 on 4 off X 12 (4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off)

-A full-time work schedule that requires employees to work four consecutive day and night shifts for 12 hours followed by four consecutive days off

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
• Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
• Drives truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations.
• Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
• Reads bill of lading to determine assignment.
• Fastens chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transit.
• Loads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck. Services and maintains truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid.
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
• Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Must perform a minimum of 3 safety engagement activities per week. May be required to train other employees as needed. Other duties may be assigned as needed. May be required to be used as Yard Dog in case of emergencies.
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Requires one to two years' related experience and/or training.
• A valid CLASS A CDL
• Must be able to pass Lamb Weston's vehicle driving test.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in the operation of truck equipment, including its design, uses, emergency repair, and maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed
• Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision

A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $22.35
