Your Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

As a member of the Ruby tracer team will work as part of the wider Tracer community within Instana You will be responsible for library and framework instrumentation, performance. profiling and cross language project work. A successful individual for this role should possess:
• Ability to jump into multiple source code bases
• Self-driven and a desire to continually learn
• Good code writing discipline and an eye for code efficiency
• Strong analytical and problem-solving thinking
• Ability to take ownership of problems to resolution and tasks to completion.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Minimum 5+yrs of experience Proven professional Ruby coding: package development, unit tests.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Java
• Experience operating in product development
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise
• Experience using OpenTracing / Jaeger instrumentation and OpenTelemetry are a big plus
• Experience with Rack, Rails, Roda or Sinatra is a big plus
• Experience with APM tools or distributed tracing tools to debug production issues is a big plus
• Experience with containerized environments (Docker/K8S above all) is a plus
• Experience with cloud environments & serverless platforms (Lambda/Fargate and any other CaaS/FaaS) is a plus
• An understanding of Kanban
