Software Development, Team Lead

Job Responsibilities

Participate in projects in all stages of development, including formation, requirements review, design, construction, testing and implementation.
Provide project estimates and manage delivery expectations.
Oversee the daily development & testing activities of projects.
Provide technical oversight and be a resource for team members.
Control and track project performance, time allocations, cost, and quality by constantly evaluating project progress and conducting regular team status meetings.
Issue / Risk Management: Anticipates and identifies Risks and Issues that may impact deliverables and develops and implements mitigation and corrective actions.
Interfaces with business leaders and stakeholders to understand the business and accompanying needs.
Guide/mentor more junior associates.
All other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Additional to Prior Position

Schedule management: Participate in and/or create project schedules for each project which includes identifying and monitoring: overall project timeline, project milestones, tasks, resources, task dependencies, and critical paths.
Scope: Ensures the projects remain focused on key objectives and goals and comply with established methodologies.
Closure: Promote continuous improvement by active participation in lessons learned.
Mitigate issues that may arise.

Job Requirements

Education Required

Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Science or equivalent knowledge and experience. MS degree preferred.


Experience Required

5 to 7 years experience in software systems development and technical project management.
Knowledge and experience with building and supporting applications on various platforms.
Ability to solve technical/engineering problems and execute on the solution through development and testing.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the development project lifecycle. Significant experience in SDLC methodologies.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology.
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes.
Knowledge and experience with building and supporting applications on various platforms.
Strong organization, project, and time management skills.
Process Orientation.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Background in the financial industry (and specifically within the managed accounts business) preferred.
