Senior Sql Database Administrator

Responsibilities Include: • Database Administration of Microsoft SQL servers within co-lo, Iaa S and Paa S Microsoft Azure environment. • Advanced knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server including Always On and clustering • Database administration including software installation, sizing, performance analysis and tuning, query troubleshooting, backup, and recovery. • Maintenance of, and response to, monitoring for key processes/systems with on-call duty 24/7. • Full participation in project lifecycles, including code promotion during scheduled maintenance windows, and participation in engineering reviews of project deliverables. • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required. • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently and collaboratively. • Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity. • Support and maintain the database utilizing MSSQL, SSRS and SSMS. Required Qualifications/Experience: • 10 years SQL Server experience, version 2016 and higher required, 2019 desirable • SQL Server Always On, HA/DR, SSRS • Windows version 2012 and higher system administration • Understanding of clustering and backup/restoration techniques and technologies • Strong communication and analytical skills required. • Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products. • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
