DB2 Database Administrator

We are looking for an experience DX2 Database Administrator to join our team. IBM DB2 Database administrator position requires self-motivation and technical proficiency in the installation, configuration, and administration of DB2 UDB Databases including effective troubleshooting abilities. This position is focused on providing end to end support to the designated application technology stack to ensure maximum uptime for Production Systems. Overall responsible for availability, performance tuning and scalability of the databases.

We are looking for an IBM certified Database Administrator with 5-9 years of experience supporting DB2 Databases on Unix and Windows operating systems.

The candidate must demonstrate solid experience with Incident management, change management, Problem management and solid administration skills to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the supported environment.
The candidate should be able to provide SME level of support to 1st level Administrators within the team.

The job includes working with the various technology teams, developers, vendors, and management of new landscape setup.

The Engineer will be responsible for the administration, installation, configuration, and support of DB2 databases on standalone and clustered environment for multiple clients.

Skills"\u2022 Good experience on High availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) experience with DB2 HADR with TSA (Tivoli system automation)
\u2022 Good experience in Replication Queue\/SQL
\u2022 Experience in implementing backup and recovery strategies, replication, and database performance tuning on LINUX\/UNIX platform
\u2022 Database migration experience (On premises & Cloud) including various upgrades.
\u2022 Experience in automating database maintenance and database monitoring including operational 24x7 support in troubleshooting.
\u2022 Experience in staging the new DB2 servers builds
\u2022 Knowledge of refresh activities at table level and other DB refreshes in prod\/non-prod environments.
\u2022 Experience in performing database loads and unloads, tablespace containers and resize on tablespaces
\u2022 Good experience in Database restores including Redirected restores and backup concepts
\u2022 Good understanding in performance monitoring techniques and conduct performance checks to ensure the databases, and their associated applications, are continuing to support the existing Service Levels
\u2022 Hands on experience in Table range partition, Multi dimension clustering, Materialized query tables
\u2022 Data movement utilities like IMPORT, LOAD, and EXPORT under high volume conditions.
\u2022 SQL Tuning using db2advisor and db2explain tools.
\u2022 Troubleshooting database issues using db2diag, db2pd, db2dart, db2support , db2top.
\u2022 Database performance tuning by configuring database and instance Parameters.
\u2022 Should have good knowledge on Latest DB2 features.
\u2022 Administration of database objects such as indexes, tables, views, constraints, stored procedures
\u2022 Capacity Management and storage management
\u2022 Design, test, and optimize\/tune RDBMS components
\u2022 Excellent understanding of ITIL process (Incident, Change and Problem management processes)
\u2022 Should be flexible to work in 24X7 shift operations
\u2022 Capable of handling escalation independently
\u2022 IBM certified administrator
\u2022 Industry certification in at least one of the cloud technologies
\u2022 Demonstrates strong communication skills (written and oral)

\u2022 Support standard software maintenance and application deployments to prod and non-prod environments by following project management office guidelines

\u2022 Advanced skills in platform administration tasks including installation, patching, clustering, log-shipping, and tuning
\u2022 Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in team projects
\u2022 Perform related duties as required and provide off-hours support for Database related issues
\u2022 Identify Root Cause and be able to apply preventive actions for environment specific problems
\u2022 Available for off-hour deployments and provide 24x7 on-call production support for mission and business critical applications
