Content writer, Grade II

Purpose

Prepare newsletter / journal articles, website content, training material, instruction manuals and other documents to communicate complex and technical information in a simplified way.

Work under minimal to nil supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL
• Write or edit wide variety of content on varying topics for multiple platforms (newsletter, website, social media, training modules, banners, case studies, guides / manuals, product & services catalogues, white papers etc.)
• Take complete responsibility of newsletter, internal website published by various departments across the organization
• Conceive and create content for Social Media engagement and branding
• Determine the needs of end users or readers for various technical and nontechnical documentation
• Determine clear and logical way to present content, write & edit content accordingly
• Work with subject matter experts to ensure that specialized topics are appropriately addressed
• Collaborate with other team members to create innovative content ideas.

Safety

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Other

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.

Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Graduate (Bachelor’s degree) in English, Journalism or related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
• Three to four years of proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
• Impeccable at spelling and use of grammar
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Google Docs
• Able to think creatively and innovatively
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
• Work surface is stable (flat)
