Job Description

Financial Reporting
• Preparing annual financial statements and providing supporting documentation of the financial statements in conjunction with the annual independent audit.
• Preparing and submitting the Annual Financial Report (AFR) and all Quarterly Financial Reports to the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) in accordance with the prescribed timeline.
• Timely filing of tax forms as required by the Internal Revenue Service and Louisiana Department of Revenue.

Financial Management
• Monitoring compliance with the organizations internal controls and financial policies.
• Overseeing collection of outstanding balances for tuition and other fee-based programs.
• Analyzing and controlling expenditures with an understanding of the relationship between school objectives and budgeted funds.

Accounting
• Responsible for maintaining integrity of general ledgers and supporting documentation.
• Posting transactions, including vendor invoices, checks, receipts, deposits, and transfers, to the appropriate account and period in the accounting system.
• Properly recognizing revenue for State and Federal funding, private grants, fee-based programs, and fundraising contributions.
• Properly accounting for the schools assets and liabilities and maintaining up to date sub-ledgers for depreciation, prepaid insurance, deferred revenue and loans payable.
• Responsible for monthly and annual closing processes, including reconciling all bank accounts and other balance sheet reconciliations
